Chris

In May 2010, Sarah and I completed the 135 mile C2C, the Coast to Coast cycle route, from Workington, though the Lake District and over the Pennines to Sunderland. I thoroughly enjoyed it, so my next project is to cycle from Land's End in Cornwall to John O'Groats in Scotland - the length of mainland Britain! Unlike the C2C, there is no signposted cycle route for this iconic journey, often know as “LEJOG”. Although it can be done in around 900 miles, I will be avoiding the busiest roads and so travelling around 1,000 miles.

My hope is that the three week trip will provide much opportunity for prayer and reflection (I have several versions of the Bible on my smart phone), as I encounter landscape, people and elements!

I have never done such a long ride before (or anything close) and I am sure I am going to need some encouragement to keep me going up all those hills! So, please pray for me and please sponsor me generously so that I will know that all my effort is bearing fruit.

Thank you.

Re~CycleFundraising

The money raised will be divided between Holy Trinity Meanwood and Re~Cycle.

At Holy Trinity we are excited about our growing partnerships, the pastoral care team and our wide range of services and events through which we are committed to serve and care for our community.

Re~Cycle collects second-hand bikes and ships them to Africa, where partners teach local people how to repair and maintain them, helping them to improve their own lives in a sustainable manner.  There is more information on my fundraising page.
